Swastika Matrimony (“Swastika Matrimony”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal data entrusted to us.

This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose, store and otherwise process personal data when you register for, access or use our website, application, matchmaking services or related services.

Depending on the services you use and information you voluntarily provide, we may collect information including your:

name, age/date of birth and gender;

photographs and profile information;

location, nationality and language;

education, occupation and employment information;

marital status;

matrimonial and partner preferences;

family/background information;

religion, religious beliefs or related preferences where voluntarily provided;

identification or verification information;

communications with Swastika Matrimony;

device, login, IP address and security information; and

payment and transaction information where applicable.

We will seek to collect only information reasonably required for the purposes communicated to you.

2. Sensitive Personal Data

Certain information you choose to provide may constitute sensitive personal data under Malaysian law. In particular, religious beliefs are expressly treated as sensitive personal data under the PDPA.

Where applicable, Swastika Matrimony will obtain your express consent before processing sensitive personal data for matchmaking purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may process your personal data to:

create, maintain and authenticate your membership;

provide matrimonial and matchmaking services;

identify and recommend potentially compatible profiles;

display your profile according to your selected privacy settings;

enable communication and expressions of interest between members;

verify profiles and reduce fake, fraudulent or abusive accounts;

provide customer support;

administer membership subscriptions and payments;

improve our platform and services;

maintain security and investigate suspected misuse;

comply with applicable laws and lawful requests; and

send marketing communications where you have provided the required consent.

4. Profile Visibility

Swastika Matrimony is a matchmaking platform. Certain information you provide is therefore intended to be shared with potential matrimonial matches.

Depending on your privacy settings, registered members may be able to view information such as your photograph, age, occupation, education, matrimonial preferences and other profile information.

Your contact information will not automatically be publicly displayed merely because you register, unless you choose a feature or setting that permits such disclosure.

5. Disclosure of Personal Data

Where necessary and permitted by law, information may be disclosed to parties such as:

service providers supporting hosting, cloud infrastructure, communications, payment processing, security, identity verification, analytics and customer support;

other registered members, but only to the extent necessary to operate the matrimonial service and subject to applicable privacy settings;

professional advisers, regulators, enforcement authorities or other persons where disclosure is legally required or permitted.

Service providers processing personal data on our behalf will be expected to maintain appropriate safeguards.

6. International Data Transfers

Some technology, hosting or service providers may process information outside Malaysia.

Where personal data is transferred outside Malaysia, Swastika Matrimony will take steps to ensure that the transfer complies with Section 129 of Act 709 and applicable cross-border data-transfer requirements.

7. Security

We will implement reasonable organisational, physical and technical measures designed to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised or accidental access or disclosure, alteration or destruction.

8. Retention and Account Deletion

Personal data will not be retained longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is processed, subject to legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and legitimate record-retention requirements.

When information is no longer required, reasonable measures will be taken to permanently delete or destroy it.

Members may request account deletion through the platform or by contacting Swastika Matrimony.

9. Your Personal Data Rights

Subject to the PDPA and applicable exceptions, you may contact us concerning your personal data, including to request access to or correction of your information and to exercise other rights or choices available under applicable law.

You may also withdraw consent where processing depends upon consent, subject to applicable legal and contractual consequences.

10. Marketing Communications

Promotional consent should be separate from consent necessary to operate the matrimonial service. Members may withdraw from promotional communications using the unsubscribe/opt-out facility provided or by contacting us.

11. Cookies and Digital Technologies

Our website or application may use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics and improving the user experience. Where required, users will be provided appropriate choices regarding non-essential cookies.

12. Data Breaches

Swastika Matrimony will maintain procedures for assessing and responding to personal-data breaches.

Where a breach meets applicable notification requirements, Swastika Matrimony will make the required notifications in accordance with Malaysian law.

13. Children

Swastika Matrimony is intended only for persons aged 18 years and above.

By registering, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes to our services, practices or applicable laws.
